NETINA

FZY have partnered with Project TEN, The Jewish Agency for Israel, to offer Netina – a 10-day programme in Ghana which focusses on cultural exchange and education-based volunteering, as well as bringing young people into a framework of core Jewish values, including Tzedakah (Charity) and Tikkun Olam (Social Action.)

Netina gives participants the opportunity to travel to Ghana for a programme with strong roots in local community, cultural exchanges and developmental projects.

Participants will work to develop 21st century skills in the children and youth they will meet throughout the week on projects ingrained into the local daily life.

Participants will create and strengthen ties of friendship between the two cultures, working with Ghanaians and deepening their own understanding of the developing world around them.

Participants will also get the chance to share their skills, put into practice their leadership on the ground and experience challenges in a unique and exciting environment.

APPLICATIONS FOR NETINA 2024 ARE OPEN!!!

Due to nature of the programme, the destination of Netina and the leadership element involved, all applicants will be interviewed with the best applicants being offered a place. The number of places for the programme is limited!

JAFI Project Ten

The Jewish Agency’s Project TEN has a network of volunteer centres in Israel and around the world hosting Jewish and Israeli volunteers for 3-5 month programmes year long.

The centres are in the hearts of local communities in Israel, Uganda, Cambodia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Mexico and Ghana. The programme combines volunteer work with local communities, alongside service learning in the fields of international development, culture, identity and Jewish activism.

The projects embody the essence of Tikkun Olam while teaching Jewish leadership on the ground. In each of the volunteer centres, located across the globe, Project TEN works closely with local partners, valuing humility and aiding school and education centres in the field of informal methods of Education.

Understanding the local culture is a process and promoting sustainability is key to a successful partnership and communal independence.

Project TENs work is focused around the UN’s 4th sustainable development goal: Quality education. Together with a strict code of ethics, they make sure to do high quality volunteering, while not harming the local community they serve.
