exciting opportunities

For the second year running, FZY and UJIA have partnered up with One2One, an online mifgash (educational encounter) set up by ENTER: The Jewish Peoplehood Alliance (ENTER) between Jewish high school aged teens who live in Israel and different parts of the world. To date 7,200 teens have participated in an online mifgash, which involves two teens, meeting once a week, over five weeks for at least 30 minutes each meeting.

The Virtual Mifgash

“The Mifgash” is an educational methodology developed in the 1980s by travel programs bringing Diaspora Jewish teens to Israel. The Mifgash has since taken root as a basic component in many of the educational venues involving Diaspora Jews traveling to Israel, and Israelis traveling abroad, including programs aimed at adults.

What will this look like?

Through this virtual exchange, participants are paired with an Israeli teen their age, building authentic connections and discovering what everyday life is really like in Israel. It’s a meaningful way to broaden horizons and create friendships that last beyond the programme. After filling out a form telling us a little more, your child will be matched by the team with an Israeli student and meet several times for a cultural exchange (with plenty of prompts to help open conversation!).

This is a requirement for those on the Mosaic programme, but is available to all those what want to take on an extra opportunity to connect with Israeli culture.
