Hadracha Bet Leadership Course
Hadracha Bet is the second year of our flagship leadership programme, designed to guide participants on their journey from chanichim (participants) to madrichim (leaders).
Become a leader

Become a leader 〰️
How does it work?
In the same format as Hadracha Aleph, once enrolled participants will come to weekly sessions that explore a range of themes centred on leadership and FZY. The course also includes a Shabbaton weekend called ‘Hadsem' where participants from both the Aleph (Year 12) and Bet (Year 13) come together for a special FZY Shabbat centered on the theme of leadership.
This year, part of the course will include completing a Level 2 CPD-recognised safeguarding course, further enhancing our participants skills and qualifications.
Kedma campaign
In addition to peer-led sessions, participants will also gain ownership over the programming through a year-long fundraising project called Kedma, meaning ‘progress’, in line with FZY’s pillar of Tzedakah (charity). This is a project completely led by the participants where we encourage them to pick a cause that they would like to fundraise for and then go to visit and impact through volunteering. We encourage them to look within the UK as well in Europe or Israel - past examples include rebuilding a shul in Ukraine or painting over the Berlin wall. We believe ownership over this programme is the best way to imbue our members with the passion we hope to see across everyone in our movement.
“It genuinely is some really great fun, I highly recommend it as it’s a way of enjoying yourself which is especially important during A level year - I’d always get excited when I remember we have Hadracha later which was a really good boost to the day/week particularly when things were getting really busy. On a side note you can also add to your CV/UCAS application and it helps you to lead camp should you want to in the future.”
Cost: £499 (includes HadSem)
Frequency: Weekly on Wednesdays
Times: 18:30–20:00
Location: Edgware
“I wasn’t sure what Had Bet was going to be like- I thought it was just going to be a continuation of Had Aleph. However I have been given so many opportunities to meet new people, lead camps and have a close group of friends before you move to uni. In had bet, you get to lead a session, and I think this has been the highlight of my year, getting to laugh with my friends and feel like an actual madrich. I have learnt so much in had bet and I can’t wait to go on to leading camps and tours with FZY!”
Through weekly sessions, fundraising projects, seminars, and leadership opportunities, participants will continue to develop their skills as leaders and educators, while exploring their role within the wider FZY community and beyond.
Our aspiration for the year is that your children grow into young leaders within the movement. This will be achieved through a combination of enriching content delivered by the two Madrichot as well as by external speakers from a range of fascinating community organizations, alongside hands-on leadership experience through activities they themselves will run for the rest of the group. In this way, they will practice planning and writing content, strengthen their leadership abilities, and improve their skills in classroom management, communication, and public speaking.
The skills gained from this course are ideal for highlighting in job and university applications, and the opportunities provided to participants will significantly boost their career prospects as well.
