WUJS Arts Track

Many artists ask themselves, how can they combine their artistic passion and talent with a professional career?  The WUJS Arts tracks are tailor-made for you to guarantee career advancement and personal satisfaction.

The WUJS Arts Track caters to all artists, including writers, musicians, performers, photographers, painters, filmmakers, animators, etc.

There are three different internship tracks which are available, based out of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa.  Dependent on where you choose to be based for the WUJS Arts Track will depend on how your schedule will look.  Here is a sample schedule so you can better understand how the programme works.  Please be advised that the schedule will vary from city to city and is subject to change.

WUJS Arts Track Sample Weekly Schedule

Generally, you will spend two days a week exploring and developing your own artwork independently which will be presented at the end of the programme in a special public exhibition.   An art coordinator will help guide you throughout your five month programme towards your final exhibition and will meet with you once a week to introduce you to different aspects of Israeli Art (cinema, dance, design, plastic art and more).

Additionally you will intern twice a week in your chosen field giving you essential experience in the financial, business, logistic, theoretical, educational and other aspects of the art world.  Placement options include, art galleries, exhibitions, dance centres, film studios, etc.  To get a better idea of some of the internships available to you, check out a partial list of options here.   This list includes options available on the Internship Track as you will notice they are not all arts-based placements.  Prior to your arrival to Israel, you will receive personalised guidance from a member of the WUJS staff, who will help you choose the internship placement that best meets your interests.

Furthermore you will get to see parts of the city that you are living in that are off the beaten track and meet some of the city’s leading artists along the way.  Jerusalem is home to some of the most influential and impressive academic art institutions in Israel such as Bezalel, Sam Speigel Film School, Musrara Photography and Graphic Design School and more.   Tel Aviv is one of the most eclectic, dynamic cities to live in worldwide, but for artists it is truly alive with bountiful opportunities to ignite your creativity and imagination.  Haifa is full of art museums and galleries and is one of the coexistence centres in the country which provides for a wide variety of artistic styles.
