Get ready for FZY Israel Tour 2017!

From the 17th July until 10th August, we are offering every Jewish 16 year old the opportunity to do something different with their summer. At FZY we understand that each of our chanichim (participants) are unique individuals with different needs, expectations and backgrounds, and we aim to provide for these differences over the summer.

FZY tours have an outstanding reputation. In fact, over the last decade we have taken over 5000 people to Israel on short and long-term programmes. They are well organised and activities are extremely varied. All our tours are led by two madrichim (leaders) from Britain together with two madrichim from Israel, who must go through an extensive screening process and participate in training seminars both in Israel and in Britain.

This year chanichim will be able to choose from 6 specialist track options in order to make their Israel Tour experience the best it could possibly be. During the trip, the group will stay together for the entire time and the track they choose will reflect the activities they will be doing over the summer.

Specialist Tracks:

On the Classic Track, chanichim will tour around Israel and discover the very best that Israel has to offer. From touring around Jerusalem’s Old City to floating on the Dead Sea, this track will give you a taste of Israel like you have never seen before.

The Classic Track is for those participants who are looking to explore Israel through a variety of different angles and are excited to have a full variety of activities throughout the summer.

????????As well as having the opportunity to play a variety of sports during the summer, chanichim on the Sports Track will learn about Israel’s sporting history and gain an understanding of how sport is used in Israel to enhance coexistence.

This track is perfect for anyone who loves a little competition and enjoys sport, regardless of whether you are male or female.

The FZY Israel Tour Sports Track is endorsed by and in partnership with Maccabi GB

The Arts Track is for those chanichim who are interested in art, music or drama. From art museums to music workshops, this track will allow you to discover a side of Israeli culture that you may not have known existed and provide insights into modern Israel.

On the Extreme Track chanichim will take part in a variety of hikes and camping opportunities including overnight hikes and a sea-to-sea hike. If you are someone who enjoys sleeping under the stars at night and is prepared to go without creature comforts for a period of time, then this unique and fun opportunity to discover Israel is definitely the track for you.

The Leadership Track is for those chanichim with an interest in leadership and politics. Chanichim on this track will visit different sites and personalities which are pivotal to Israeli politics, which in turn will allow chanichim to understand leadership and Israel on a whole new level.

Chanichim on this track will get the opportunity to expand on their leadership skills and put these into practice with Israeli kids.

Chanichim on the Army Track will take part in the 5-day Gadna programme. Chanichim will wear the army uniform, participate in physical training activities and deal with some of the moral and ethical issues that face the Israeli army today.

In addition to the Gadna component, chanichim on this track will meet with soldiers and organisations that work with IDF troops to fully understand how the IDF plays a part within Israel society.

Other FZY Israel Tour Highlights:

There are also 2 main opportunities for all the FZY groups to come together; our famous FZY Israel Tour Maccabiah Event and FZY Day. Both of these events are highlights of the summer for the chanichim. By bringing the groups together in a friendly competitive atmosphere, it builds the identity if each of the individual groups, making FZY Israel Tour an unforgettable experience!

New to this year is the Family Weekend, providing the opportunity for participants to spend the entire Shabbat with their family and/or friends who live in Israel or are visiting from abroad.  Not everyone has family or friends in Israel or people who are able/willing to host participants for the weekend.

For all participants who are not visiting family and/or friends on this weekend FZY will be providing a cross-group Shabbat, which will allow participants to see their friends from other tour groups and build more relationships with the FZY Israel Tour 2017 cohort.
