Chavurot

FZY's chavurot are the lifeblood of the movement.

Every Sunday night, hundreds of chanichim aged 13-18, from all over Britain, can be found chatting, laughing, eating and learning a little at their local chavura. The beauty of the chavurot is that they are totally peer-led and every year the members elect a new committee to run the chavura and lead all of the peulot that the chavura does.

Sunday night peulot can range from discussions and activities on Jewish, Zionist and current social issues, to film nights, murder mystery evenings and just pure socials.

Often, the chavurot will also arrange special events such as trips to places like Thorpe Park, paintballing and Quasar.

They also run some fantastic fundraising and tzedakah (charity) events, including charity balls and drives, raising thousands of pounds for FZY’s charity, the Ethiopian Barmitzvah Fund, as well as other worthy causes.

If you are interested in joining your local chavura, or just finding out more, feel free to call either the FZY Head Office on 020 8201 6661 or the relevant chavurot chairs.

You could also email some of our movement team workers directly, each of whom work more closely with specific areas in Britain:
